Professional and Ministry experience and affiliations:
Rev. Dr. Edward Buri is a multifaceted individual whose expertise spans Theology (Parish and Public), Youth Ministry, Ethics and Development, Biblical Studies as well Media and Communication. Rev. Dr. Buri has studied in the University of Nairobi (Kenya), Princeton Theological Seminary (USA) and University of Pretoria (South Africa).
Rev. Dr. Buri began his professional journey as a banker before transitioning to the religious sector as a lay youth pastor and later an ordained minister. He became the first parish-based youth director in the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA). As a lecturer, he has taught Youth Ministry, Ethics and Development, and Biblical Studies at various Christian universities. He continues to serve as a guest lecturer and conference speaker at local and international institutions. He is a skilled media interviewer with extensive experience in leading Christian media houses in Kenya.
Rev. Dr. Buri is the author of “Love the Christian Signature,” a contemporary interpretation and application of biblical love. He has also contributed chapters to various books and is a seasoned columnist for Kenya’s leading newspapers, where he engages contemporary issues through the lenses of ethics and religion.
Rev. Dr. Buri is the founder of the Institute of Ethics and Youth Affairs, championing holistic, values-led living. He is a member of the International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry (IASYM) and takes delight in mentoring young people, supporting their identity formation, and centering spirituality as a cornerstone of character development.
Rev. Dr. Edward Buri is married and they are blessed with two sons.
